My name is Zain Hussain. I have recently graduated with a BA in Arabic and Hebrew, having attained advanced proficiency in both Arabic and Hebrew. As someone who has learnt Arabic, I understand the difficulties in doing so, and I understand that the learning process never stops. I am somebody who will work with a person based on their needs in a friendly, polite and enthusiastic manner. Grammar can be fun too. I promise. My Arabic classes will focus mostly on acquiring the rudiments of Arabic grammar and syntax. My experience in learning Arabic has taught me that, in order to succeed in grasping grammar and syntax, you need to practice concepts. This can be done by analysing sentences in newspapers and on the radio, and working on them by taking them step by step. This is even more important, in practical terms, than learning complicated terminology related to grammar and syntax. My lessons will focus on applying these concepts in practice, in addition to working with translating texts (if there is a demand for it). The purpose of the classes will not be merely to analyse sentences, but how you can understand what is being written, read and said, with insight into grammar and how the sentences are formed. Sometimes, Arabic classes can get bogged down too much in details that are often superfluous. I want to counter that method.
