A Few Things to Keep in Mind When Booking Your Cleveland Private Tutor

Where in Cleveland is the Private Tutor?

Area, area, area, it’s so important to find the right private tutor in or around your area (Cleveland)! If you end up choosing a Cleveland Tutor who is difficult to get to, you’ll be less likely to attend and will end up wasting lots of time. Use the Classes A2Z system to enter your area and run a search for Cleveland Private Tutors. Once you’ve chosen your tutor, make sure you ask for their local area so you can see how easy it will be to get to. However, with many Cleveland Private Tutors you’ll be pleased to know that they’re willing to travel to you!

Private Tuition at my place or the tutor’s place?

So, where’s the best place to have your Cleveland private tuition? You have a few choices because you can have the private tutor come to your home in Cleveland, try online lessons or travel to the tutor’s place or tuition centre. Convenience is normally at the top of people’s priority list but you also need to consider where you’ll learn best. Some people find it better to have tuition away from home as they can concentrate better. In this case you have the choice of going to the tutor’s place in Cleveland or attending one of our listed Cleveland tuition centres. If you feel more comfortable at home or find travelling is going to be difficult, weigh up the options between the tutor coming to your home in Cleveland or having online tuition.

  • Your home
  • Tutor’s home
  • Tuition Centre
  • Online

Basically, it’s a personal choice but before making that choice always remember that learning is the end goal so you must ask yourself “Where am I going to learn most?”.

Does the Cleveland tutor have the right experience for me?

No two Cleveland Private Tutors are the same and no two students are the same either, so it’s imperative you explain to your tutor in chat what you need to accomplish and share any challenges you are currently having. When you have your first lesson in Cleveland it’s always best to look upon it as an exploratory meeting where both you and your private tutor can work out how best to help you. If in the unlikely situation the tutor feels they are unable to help, you will find that many tutors will tell you rather than wasting your time. Tutors take pride in being able to see improvements in their students and share in your success as your success is your tutor’s success too!

Private Tutors, Tutoring Agency or Tuition Centre?

There are three main choices when it comes down to getting extra tutoring and again it comes down to personal choice.

When choosing the best Cleveland tuition for you, we understand that pricing can be a factor. Private Tutors can work out less expensive as they have less overheads but there are benefits for using tutoring agencies or Cleveland tuition centres. One of the main benefits is that you have more flexibility when it comes to changing your tutor or getting cover if and when your tutor is unavailable because of holiday or sickness. We’ve also found that some people prefer a tuition centre as they find it easier to focus in a dedicated learning facility. It’s also worthwhile contemplating small study groups as this can be very effective and can considerably cut costs for you.

At Classes A2Z you will find a multitude of solutions so have a look through the profiles and send some enquiries. Our advice is to send at least 2 different Cleveland Private Tutors an enquiry so you can get faster answers and a better choice. Please bear in mind that the members may not always have the available time you’re looking for in Cleveland so sending an enquiry to more than one member is the best practice!

I’ve always loved writing and books. My attempts at creative writing began with poems and stories at primary school and continued through secondary where I contributed to and edited the school magazine. As a self-employed tutor of English, Literacy and Basic Skills, as well as facilitator/mentor of Creative Writing, I enjoy sharing my passion and encouraging others to enjoy literacy and literature. I tutor adults, children and young people from Key Stages 1 to 5, providing English and Basic Skills for work, study, life and pleasure. All lessons are designed to cater to individual needs and learning preferences. I began my teaching career in Secondary Education, transferring later into Further Education. After volunteering as an ESOL tutor, I qualified in this area, later diversifying into Adult Basic Education, Learning Support and Family Learning. I particularly enjoyed community-based education. My first writing commission, three stories for the anthology, Mini Mysteries and Kooky Spookies came as a result of entering a competition held by Pinestein Press. Shortly after, I became one of the winners of the first Munch Bunch Children’s Writing Competition. In 2012 I graduated with an MA in Writing for Children from the University of Central Lancashire, having completed around half a novel for 8-12s. This novel, Red God Black God, was inspired by a field trip to Kenya in the final year of my Masters and tells the story of a young Maasai girl’s struggle to continue her education. It was shortlisted for The Bath Children's Book Award in 2015. In the first year of my programme, I visited Zambia, taking with me letters from British schoolchildren. These letters, alongside replies from African children, featured in a book entitled Letters to Africa. I also contributed short stories, a narrative poem and a factual article. I have also written several educational resources. The first, Speaking English, Handling Everyday Situations with Confidence was published by Studymates Press in 2000, with second and third editions in 2003 and 2005. This is a self-study book for speakers of English as a second or other language. Zig Zag Educational Publishing commissioned me to produce two poetry packs, Listening to Literary Heritage Poetry, and Listening to Rhythm in Poetry which were published in 2010/11 as well as A Practical Guide to Workshops for A Level Creative Writing, published in 2013.

I tutor/teach students the new maths GCSE (9-1) plus Secondary levels (KS3 & KS4) and maths Primary levels (KS1 & KS2). I am very friendly, approachable and have proven track record to bring best academic potential out of students. I am happy to discuss your requirements without any obligations. I am based in Kingsbury (NW9) very close to the underground. I spend time as required with students to work out together their areas of strength and areas they require to build up on, which is normally done in the first few lessons. Nearly all my student achieve better grades than they initially targeted.
